Yay, it’s Tuesday again which means time to share some #placestobe with you. After a great trip to Germany I am very happy to be back in wonderful Portland.
Portland is full of #placestobe I can’t wait to share with you.
Mr V. and I love walking and biking around the city. Sometimes we just leave the house and start strolling around and every time we go we get to explore new restaurant, shops, bars, parks or just cool places.
The city is so vibrant, constantly changing and eclectic but nevertheless old-school, personal and lovely.
I look forward to sharing a few of our walks which include a mixture of food, drink, art, sport and shopping destinations as well as simply my favorite spots in categories.
Having that said I am at POA café right now, one of my neighborhood spots.
For me this place fits my current lifestyle of freelancing, writing, being a #mommytobe as well as having a passion for healthy, organic, clean food, juices and coffee. Of course not to forget a glass of wine or a cold IPA as well from time to time.
POA Café basically combines all of it in a pretty inviting atmosphere created by day light, community tables, a high top bar counter facing the street #greatpeoplewatching and your classic café setting – inside and outside ( if the weather allows).
In my opinion it provides the perfect ambiance for a casual business meeting, a friends lunch, a play date ( yes, yes, yes – they have a great kids play corner) or just a coffee by yourself. Besides that I also stop by here to refuel after a saturday morning run or yoga workout.
In addition to that the whole menu can be prepped for take-out if you are on the go.
Talking about the menu, here we go with my all-time favorites:
- a cappuccino and a home-made croissant ( the coffee is umbria coffee and the croissants are just the best!!!!!)
- the superfood green smoothie (my inspiration for the ones I also make myself)
- the avocado toast ( I always add an egg to it)
- the charcoal lemonade cleanse (no worries, it tastes really good – just like normal lemonade but it is detoxifying on top!)
- the Thai bowl ( add quinoa and chicken if you are super hungry)
POA Café describes itself as “family and friends and community café for all” and I think that this pretty much nails it.
Good people. Good food. It’s just POA.
I hope you get the chance to stop by, have a meal and find out where the name POA comes from. All I am saying is: It’s pretty cool ;-).
Enjoy and see you there.
Happy Tuesday, m.
