….Blog, Instagram, lebook project, freelancing – what a ride!
It’s been four weeks now that I left my old job after 14 amazing years. I didn’t know what to expect at all and I did not know if I’d love it or hate it.
As a first resume, I’d say I couldn’t be happier. Not because I left a company I loved and love, just because everything else that I get to do right now.
I am not a web designer, I am not a graphic designer or photographer, rather am I a PR person, marketing pro even less an experienced author.
I have never used Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, let’s say social media the way I do it right now and I know that I am far away from being professional or can call myself expert.
I have had a freelance business in Germany for six years, but being self-employed in the us is new to me as well.
The exciting thing about it and that’s what gets me going every day as well as it fuels me with energy, creativity and ideas is that I learn sooo much. There is so much opportunity everywhere to learn things without paying a lot of money, signing up for expensive universities or have the best coaches in the world.
No matter if it is the internet, your community college, city organizations, friends, your network, books or just inspiration and ideas from mother nature – you can figure it all out.
You might not do everything right and it might take you a little longer from time to time than just asking and calling an expert, but you will get there and the good thing is: It will stick and it will get added to your own personal skill set which makes me proud.
I am honest, I don’t know exactly where life will take me in 2017, but so far it hasn’t been too bad and one of my personal maxims BEGIN ANYWHERE hasn’t disappointed me at all.
Having that said I would like to take the chance to say thank you. The support I have been given from friends, experts, family and people I got to know throughout my career has been amazing, extremely positive and inspiring.
There are so many things great things to do, there are so many things I would love to do – unfortunately I can’t do it all ;-). I am humbled by all the opportunities and partnerships that I am exploring right now and I will never take it for granted.
Thanks again for your continued support and please keep it going:

Cheers, Maika
