Last week one of my best friends and I did the perfect little Frankfurt shopping, eating & catch up tour which we loved. Last weekend I repeated the tour with Mr. V, Malinski and my parents and they loved it, too. So let's call it approved ;-). Here we go: Park your car at a parking garage at PARKHAUS HAUPTWACHE. Get out and refuel with a coffee + pastries and KAFFEE WACKERS first. It's an institution in Frankfurt so sometimes there is a little line, don't be afraid, it goes super quick and you can watch people in between. Don't forget to check out KONSTRASTE, an interior design store next door, they have awesome little gifts, accessories as well as all kind of premium design furniture. Be careful and don't buy too many things Continue Reading
Places to Be
Tuesdays are Wochenmarktday or let’s say farmer’s market days in Offenbach.
Don’t worry – Fridays and Saturdays, too. I am born in Frankfurt and raised in Offenbach. The best description I ever heard about Offenbach is: “Offenbach is the Brooklyn of Frankfurt”. It’s so true to me. It has a little rougher history but it’s up and coming right now, super eclectic, known for one of the best art universities in the country and just a nice little city to live in that has been grown on everybody that has moved there (as far as I know). It famous for its leather industry which needed hard-working, honest and good people as well as for its soccer club Kickers Offenbach which is another subject ( we have a very emotional hate love relationship). One of Offenbach’s places to be and must-see is its huge farmer’s Continue Reading

You in Berlin? You hungry?
Berlin is always a good idea. What else is new ;-) There is never enough time to do it all #toobad but please see below for some food-insiders in Berlin City West: SETs: Set is a super cute place to brunch, lunch, snack or dine. The owner’s concept is to serve their favorite food and as well as items they would love to order when eating out. One of their signature items are the different kind of spreads. They serve them in little bell jars with freshly baked organic bread. Besides that, their menu consists of a large variety of paleo dishes as well as gluten-free, vegan options or just a classic omelet with bacon. It’s perfect to either stop by for a quick snack and a coffee or spend a couple of hours having brunch with friends. Café Continue Reading
my travel buddies
I love travelling and my last job contained a lot of travel and took me all around the world. Call it a jackpot. Some people think of great destinations, unforgettable vacations and great experiences when they think travelling and this is for sure a part of it. I also got the chance to explore 6a itineraries from the west to the east coast as well as these lovely red-eye flights that can save you a lot of time or what about a long distance to Hong Kong or Brazil in Economy followed by a full work schedule as soon as you touch the ground? As a matter of fact, a huge part of travelling is less glamorous than it looks on Instagram. As always it’s the little things in life that can help you elevating you’re your experience on the quick Continue Reading
venice beach, abbott kinney and the breakfast question
Guest post from @HeatherDewey Hello from Southern California. Every time I travel here, I wonder why I am not living by the beach. Then I remember that traffic is worse than Portland and the mountains are masked by smog. But California does have sunshine, which is more than I can say for Portland with the impending ice storm, so at least for a few days the scales are tipped for LA. This is Maika’s first week sans work and there couldn’t be a better time to head out for a little girls trip. I am writing this guest post from a Le Pain Quotidian and just read in the intro to their cookbook: Life is good in the slow lane. Grow vegetables in your garden and give them a chance to to ripen to perfection. Take the time to bake your own bread. Live Continue Reading
