just a little something to say thank you

just a little something to say thank you

Nothing better than friends over the world in case you need a place to stay. Everybody is like: No need to bring anything just being a sleep over guest at a friend’s house!  But of course you don't want to show up with empty hands. Here are my Friday favorites, just a little something to say thank you: What about some tea and a piece of chocolate? You Can’t go wrong with the organic teas from LOV. They come in all colors, flavors and once the little cans are empty you can use them as a little chocolate storage, for example the Ritter Sport Pralines. As you guys know me I personally think that a little blank notebook is always a good idea. Yellow lines and black and white dots are a perfect couple this spring and no matter if you used Continue Reading

Buy it, store it, love it.

Buy it, store it, love it.

Kitchen, bath room, living room, office and oh of course – we have a walking sneaker closet. Our lovely friends need a place as well, don’t they? It’s a lot of work to inventory #doIhavethismodellalready, store and maintain your beloved sneakers, that's for sure! We have come a long way and tried out all kinds of storage solution before ending up with an easy shelf system (you can buy one at Home Depot, Ikea or even might be able to find a good start at a garage sale close by your house). That’s the easy part. #besidesthespaceyouneedforit. It’s super important to keep the boxes (I am still mad at myself that I didn’t do so in the beginning). It’s better for the shoes and it’s way easier to stack them). The reason why I didn’t keep the Continue Reading

Tuesdays are Wochenmarktday or let’s say farmer’s market days in Offenbach.

Tuesdays are Wochenmarktday or let’s say farmer’s market days in Offenbach.

Don’t worry – Fridays and Saturdays, too. I am born in Frankfurt and raised in Offenbach. The best description I ever heard about Offenbach is: “Offenbach is the Brooklyn of Frankfurt”. It’s so true to me. It has a little rougher history but it’s up and coming right now, super eclectic, known for one of the best art universities in the country and just a nice little city to live in that has been grown on everybody that has moved there (as far as I know). It famous for its leather industry which needed hard-working, honest and good people as well as for its soccer club Kickers Offenbach which is another subject ( we have a very emotional hate love relationship). One of Offenbach’s places to be and must-see is its huge farmer’s Continue Reading

what’s in your bag? bright essentials are calling for a great week!

How come it is Monday already? Do you know this Monday morning feeling #Idontwanttogetup #fivemoreminutes, especially when it’s a rainy and wet outside? Please see below for some colorful, bright and shiny helpers to be ready for another week full of to do’s, appointments, meetings and all the other fun stuff to come. I don’t go anywhere without my nuuna brandbook 2017 calendar. I know I am old-school carrying a physical calendar but it’s so helpful and most of the time I don’t forget what I wrote down once. Keeping it old school with my little leather pencil case as well as my pilot V-pen. Handwriting is key! For all the notes, you like to take during a meeting or just for pretending you are prepared, take your blank paper Continue Reading

#lastminutegift or just a #littlesomething for yourself

Yes – it’s all about the little things in life. Around your house, on your kitchen table, in your purse, on your desk or in your bathroom. I love beautiful things, starting from napkins to pens, from fresh-cut flowers to pillows, vases, kitchen accessories or  sneakers and a t-shirt #dontforgetscarves as well as just the perfect eye shadow color and I look forward to sharing little things I have and find all over world with you on this blog. #dowereallyneedthis #yes. Yesterday I got to spent the afternoon with my mum #sheloveslittlethingsaswell, my sisterinlaw #sheloveslittlethingstoo and my little niece #anotherlittlethingIlove in Bad Vilbel close to Frankfurt. Bad Vilbel is perfect for a little lazy ladies’ afternoon #placestobe. Easy Continue Reading

You in Berlin? You hungry?

You in Berlin? You hungry?

Berlin is always a good idea. What else is new ;-) There is never enough time to do it all #toobad but please see below for some food-insiders in Berlin City West: SETs: Set is a super cute place to brunch, lunch, snack or dine. The owner’s concept is to serve their favorite food and as well as items they would love to order when eating out. One of their signature items are the different kind of spreads. They serve them in little bell jars with freshly baked organic bread. Besides that, their menu consists of a large variety of paleo dishes as well as gluten-free, vegan options or just a classic omelet with bacon. It’s perfect to either stop by for a quick snack and a coffee or spend a couple of hours having brunch with friends. Café Continue Reading

listen to others but don’t silence your own voice

listen to others but don’t silence your own voice

Carnival, Mardi Gras, Spring break, Prom and what’s next? It seems like your parents, friends and family just got back into their routine as the questions about your future became a little less frequent after the holiday season peak. Am I right? Some of you already might have the plan, you know exactly which university you want to go and how to get accepted and if you get asked where you will be 5 years from now you can answer in three straight sentences. Done. Check. Have fun and don’t forget: Change is the only constant;-). And then there is people like me. It was February, Carnival season was just around the corner, and I kind of had a plan and I knew I would do something, but nothing was written in stone and nothing was confirmed at Continue Reading

my travel buddies

my travel buddies

I love travelling and my last job contained a lot of travel and took me all around the world. Call it a jackpot. Some people think of great destinations, unforgettable vacations and great experiences when they think travelling and this is for sure a part of it. I also got the chance to explore 6a itineraries from the west to the east coast as well as these lovely red-eye flights that can save you a lot of time or what about a long distance to Hong Kong or Brazil in Economy followed by a full work schedule as soon as you touch the ground? As a matter of fact, a huge part of travelling is less glamorous than it looks on Instagram. As always it’s the little things in life that can help you elevating you’re your experience on the quick Continue Reading

Hey, I am Carol.

Hey, I am Carol.

Have you ever been the first guest to enter a California Pizza Kitchen restaurant right when they open at 11a? This is exactly where I got to meet Carol McKibben in person for the first time. She figured that it wouldn’t be busy so we would have time to talk, grab an early lunch, and meet in the middle of her home and my hotel. To me, that describes perfectly how easy-going, uncomplicated, and pragmatic Carol is, and those are just some of the things I love about her. When she walks into the room being super fit and well-dressed, you’d never guess her age. The only hint I am giving is that there were two decades between my bet and her real age. She just looks amazing. But that’s just something that makes her a super woman in my eyes. Continue Reading

#EXCHANGESTUFF

#EXCHANGESTUFF

I went back and forth about introducing another big project aka #mylittlelucy on this blog or not. There are a lot pro and con’s (“no, this is not a mommy-only blog, it could be distracting from the lebook project & sneaker actions” and “your baby will be all over your life anyways, so think twice” or “it will be fun to talk about it, why not – it’s the truth you are going to be a mom and you’ll love it”) Long story cut short I decided to #goforit  #justdo it. If it doesn’t work or if I doesn’t like it anymore, I can always stop talking and writing about it. Deal? I have moved to beautiful Portland Oregon in Fall 2012 and since then it has been my husband and myself living the dream in the Pacific Northwest. We got to meet a lot Continue Reading
