I went back and forth about introducing another big project aka #mylittlelucy on this blog or not. There are a lot pro and con’s (“no, this is not a mommy-only blog, it could be distracting from the lebook project & sneaker actions” and “your baby will be all over your life anyways, so think twice” or “it will be fun to talk about it, why not – it’s the truth you are going to be a mom and you’ll love it”)
Long story cut short I decided to #goforit #justdo it. If it doesn’t work or if I doesn’t like it anymore, I can always stop talking and writing about it. Deal?
I have moved to beautiful Portland Oregon in Fall 2012 and since then it has been my husband and myself living the dream in the Pacific Northwest.
We got to meet a lot super nice, inspiring people, made great friends and couldn’t be happier to be so warm welcomed, well accepted and hosted by everybody in this town and in the United States in general. It’s been amazing.
With having #mylittlelucy on the way now I am even more excited to get to know more people, families and friends in a totally new environment and under new circumstances.
Having that said one thing I’d like to try to establish on this blog is a platform for young moms and great women that share the same interests like: sports, design, shopping, food, #womensinbiz, arts and are happy to #EXCHANGESTUFF.
While expecting, I feel like your focus changes a little bit on where and what for you need and want to spend your money and that’s why I would love to make that easy for all of us.
We can still find and get super exciting stuff without regretting items we bought while doing a little retail therapy and other things that ended up in our houses.
There is always a use for it and we can start exchanging stuff in our network first before buying more and giving ourselves a guilt trip about #newnewnew things from time to time.
I am not talking a typically baby/kids/maternity wear consignment store.
I am thinking about getting together, getting to know each other and exchanging the top that you bought at @Anthropologie because you #needed it but you can’t wear anymore the next 9-12 months and you are not sure if you’d do so afterwards for this super cute splendid onesie that you got a for her birthday but she is way too big for it already.
Of course, this doesn’t have to be a mom-meet-only, I would love it to be a wild mixture of amazing women living in Portland getting together from time and shop their friend’s closets, bookshelves, décor items, kitchen utensils, shoes, jewelry while enjoying some bubbles or green smoothies.
Can’t wait to hear your take on my #EXCHANGESTUFF idea (please let me know if this is a stupid one) and stay tuned for more details on this blog as well as a first date probably mid-end of march if you guys are up for it.
Cheers, maika
